Round 5 -GMBC/Greensborough Eagles v North Coburg Rebels
Saturday morning and the weather could not have been better. We arrived at
Epping for the big game against the Rebels, but something was different!
The first four games were played on Diamond One and this week we were
scheduled on Diamond Three.

It didn’t take us long to familiarize ourselves and we started in the field.
There was a Greensborough feel about the game with Mitch Heywood on the
mound and Jack behind the plate. It was also a case of “beauties and the beast”
in the outfield with Leah at left field, Claire at right and Matt Stephens at
centre.

The Eagles win the game 15 to 8.

We are one third of the way through the season and have 3 wins and one loss
and one bye. Keep your eyes on the ball gang – we have some tough games on the
horizon.

Batting
1st dig 5 runs, 2nd 6 runs, 3rd 1 run and 3 in the last.

The Ramsay boys were at it again. Rambo starts us off with a home run,
Mitch Heywood walks to 1st and Mitch Ramsay (not to be out shone) cracks
another home run. The Axiak brothers join in and Matt Stephens nearly brings
rain with a fly ball.

Everyone follows the leader in the 2nd, Leah walks to 1st, Rambo, James and
Lachlan all hit double, Matt Kelsey , Mitch Ramsey and Paul all put bat on ball.

Fielding
Mitch Heywood pitched a blinder – 3 innings for 2 runs and Lachlan,
in unfamiliar surroundings, closing out the game for us. Both were well supported
in the field. Highlight James’ throw from 3rd to 1st for an out.
