Round 2 – 3/5/2014
GMBC/Greensborough U15 Eagles v Research/Westgarth

The Eagles have spread their wings and invited 4 players from Greensborough to join the nest as a combined team.
This will give these players the opportunity to play this season and ensure we have sufficient numbers.

We welcome Jack Gee, Matthew Watson, Mitchell Heywood and Lachlan Williams to the team and Ben and Matt Whyte as coaches.
As a result Jeremy has flown the coup to the Orioles. We wish him all the best.

The Eagles played Research / Westgarth and we secured our 1st win 19/3 in an actioned packed game.

We now have 3 Matt’s (4 including the coach) and 2 Mitchell’s!!!

Batting:-
1st dig – 4 runs, 2nd – 4 runs, 3rd – 3 runs and 7 in the last.
Great result with everyone on their game.
Jack hits in the 1st and brings 2 home.
Matt Stephens gets hit again.
Joel (Rambo) hits the umpire.
Claire continues her good form with a double in the 2nd.
Lachlan clears the cones.

Fielding:-
Both Mitch’s were on the mound and did a great job restricting Research/Westgarth to 3 runs.
Jack did a good job behind the plate.
Mitch Heywood took a nice catch in right field.
The fielding was a highlight.

The team gelled really well on and off the field. We have 4 coaches who worked well in tandem with the boys receiving
plenty of encourgagement and advice. Looking forward to a fun season and again welcome to the Greensborough boys and families.

Good news for the Mum’s and Dad’s – you can have a sleep in, as we have a bye next week.
