It was a tight game the whole day, with Essendon striking first in the top of the first. GM struck back to take a 3 all lead following some clutch hitting.
U12 Australian Player Will Kent took the ball to start for the first final, and coupled up with Eden Neave and Darcy Squire.
The game was back and forth before Essendon drew it up 6 all with a few minutes to go.
Unable to score in the bottom of the inning, the game headed into overtime, where Darcy continued on the mound and continued to fight off the strong Essnedon line up. The inning ended with a massive throw to the plate from Ethan Kent, stopping Essendon from taking the lead!
With 7, 8, 9 up for GM, we got the lead off Eric on, a great bit of hitting from Ollie, unfortunately saw Eric thrown out at second. after advancing on a pass ball, he was moved to third base on Rowan’s hit. The infield came in to try and stop the run, and Darcy scored the run on a ground ball to second base!
Walk off, and on to the Grand Final next week!
